Weldments & Structural Design
This project showcases 3D modeling and structural assembly using SolidWorks Weldments. The focus was on creating precise industrial frameworks, including custom structural members, gusset plates, and bolted connections.
About Project
I started by designing a heavy-duty support arm using the Weldment toolset. This involved defining custom path segments and applying structural profiles to ensure the arm could handle simulated loads while maintaining a clean, manufacturable design.
Finally, I developed a complex structural intersection featuring I-beams and reinforced gussets. I focused on the alignment of mounting holes and the placement of hardware to ensure the assembly was both structurally sound and ready for real-world fabrication.
This project significantly improved my understanding of structural member libraries, trim/extend features, and how to manage large assemblies in a professional CAD environment..
